Starting on July 1, 2010, you'll see a harmonized sales tax in British Columbia and Ontario. The HST combines the GST and the respective PST taxes into one tax to be collected by the federal government. The new tax will have important implications on businesses that lease their vehicles as the Government has announced temporary restrictions on input tax credits (ITCs) that will apply to large business that operate road vehicles weighing less than 3,000 kg.
